This little star of a herb has wonderful benefits and can be used internally and externally. Its soothing and calming on the digestive system, it is strengthening both energetically and on smooth muscle tissues.
Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory, nervine, bitter, tonic, carminative, vulnerary and an anti-spasmodic herb. It has amazing analgesic, wound healing, and antihistamine properties. Chamomile is additionally a diaphoretic, emmenagogue, cholagogue, choleretic, relaxant, anxiolytic, anti-microbial, antiseptic, and tonic to the digestive tract.
Chamomile is used widely in all forms of herbal medicine. Dried and fresh, tinctured in alcohol and apple cider vinegar, it makes a great hydrosol, tea, essence, essential oil, macerate and topical balm, ointment, oil and cream.
