Clover is used extensively for disorders of the skin. It has oestrogenic qualities and is a sweet cooling herb. It is reputed to help drive other herbs towards specific tissue. It has diuretic and expectorant qualities as well as being mildly antispasmodic It helps to remove hard swellings and obstruction from the lymphatic system.
The flowers are used when full although many animals will eat the stems before they become too woody.
Red clover is a sprawling perennial found in fields, meadows, hedgerow etc often found in hay fields and gardens.
